-an interactive video installation from Ellie Peterson.
Emotiscope, explores color theory and design via an immersive video installation that allows viewers to control twelve animated loops by traveling around a room. Each loop emulates a characteristic emotional state and is made entirely of handmade paper cut outs and found materials. The flow and rhythm of her installation is an extension of Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotion, which suggests that emotions, like complementary colors, also exist in harmonious bipolarity. Emotiscope uses this model as a tool to determine how the expression of emotional stimuli blends and clashes rhythmically on screen. The ultimate outcome forms a new, dynamic and interactive way of experiencing a cinematic work.
Events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.
