The Minor

The department welcomes several newly declared minors each year. Minors take a minimum of seven courses within the department, one introduction course, one film history course, three studies courses, one production course, and a last one that could be a production, screenwriting, or studies course.

Students considering a minor in Film and Media Studies should familiarize themselves with the course requirements as well as the department's course offerings and descriptions. To help you with your planning, you may also use our Film & Media Studies Minor Worksheet.

Students intending to pursue a F&MS Minor must meet with the department's Major Advisor to discuss their planned course of study prior to submitting a plan in DartWorks.
