The Passing of Noted Film Archivist David Shepard

Legendary film historian and preservasionist David Shepard has passed away at the age of 76.

Mr. Shepard's career was celebrated here at Dartmouth College's Loew Auditorium (Black Family Visual Arts Center) in November of 2016 at a 3 hour event hosted by Bruce Posner (with Professor Mark Williams) as part of his Cine-Salon series.  The evening included tributes to David from film history & archive legends such as Serge Bromberg, Kevin Brownlow, and Leonard Maltin. Obituaries and remembrances have been published in The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, and Sight and Sound.
