Film and Media Studies Assoc. Professor Iyabo Kwayana's film BY WATER will premiere at Sundance Film Festival 2023 on January 22nd in the Animated Shorts category.
Kwayana - a 2020 BlackStar Pitch recipient - created a film to "complete the story." The film pays homage to her brother, joining him on a transformative journey that culminates in catharsis for our unlikely hero. Director Iyabo Kwayana and the treasured animation team will appear in person for 4 festival screenings and two community screenings.
