  • FILM 47.20 Final Projects

    "Curating and Microcinema" provides an introduction to the practice of curating film and video work in various exhibition contexts including film festivals, moving-image installations, independent microcinemas, and as a form of public pedagogy. These are the students' final curatorial projects, of their own design.

  • FILM 1 Exhibition

    For those of you on campus now or in fall, please check out the exhibition by students from X21 Intro to Film: From Script to Screen in the Film and Media Studies Gallery (above the Digital Lab in BVAC). Working together in groups of five, the class created nine remakes of the short film "Glimpse of the Garden" (1957) by Marie Menken.

    You are all invited this weekend to the final screening of FILM 44.09 Cinematography I and FILM 31 Filmmaking I at the Loew Auditorium, Black Family Visual Arts Center, and virtually via Zoom!

  • Welcoming 2021—22 visiting faculty Shevaun Mizrahi

    Prof. Mizrahi will teach FILM 44.07- Docu-Fantasy and the Speculative Narrative in Multi-Ethnic Cinema at 2A in fall term 21, FILM 31 - Filmmaking I at 2A and FILM 44.04 - Sound Practice and Theory at 3B in winter 22, and FILM 47.02 - Theory and Practice of Editing at 3B in spring 22. 

  • Jones Media Center and Film & Media Studies host 48 Hour Video Contest

    The Jones Media Center and Film and Media Studies department (JAMS for short!) will be hosting the Fourth Annual 48 Hour Video Contest starting Friday, July 30! Sign up as a team or sign up solo. At least one person from your team must be a Dartmouth student, faculty or staff.
