Professor Jodie Mack' newest film Wasteland No. 1: Ardent, Verdant had its world premiere at the Locarno Festival in August, followed by it's North American premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 8th. As described in the TIFF program: "Computers meet chlorophyll in Jodie Mack's Wasteland No. 1 - Ardent, Verdant, with its rapid-fire montage of close-up circuit boards and bright, saturated flowers."
Wasteland No. 1: Ardent, Verdant will have its US Premiere at the New York Film Festival on October 7th as part of Program 3: The Shapes of Things. Quoting from the NYFF program, "Jodie Mack’s bracing 16mm montage film juxtaposes gleaming close-ups of electrical circuit boards with hyper-saturated images of a flower-littered landscape. In its rapid-fire presentation, the film offers a swift metaphorical representation of technology’s inexorable march."
